Multi-instance SSRS Report Deployment

Can't get SSRS reports to deploy? Try this...
PROBLEM:
In this scenario we'll use GP2015 (see below for adaptions with other versions).
You’ve gone through the typical SSRS setup steps and also verified that all the necessary permissions have been granted for the current user to deploy SSRS reports. Domain User is granted Content Manager permissions at the root of the report site and is also is a member of the rpt_power user group in SQL. When you press the button depicted below, nothing happens. No error message appears. No reports are deployed. Reports should be deployed to the report server URL selected.
SOLUTION:
The solution is to install Dexterity Shared Components 14.0 (for use with GP2015). Because the report definitions are stored in SQL as Binary Large Objects, the ManagedStorage dll (part of Dexterity Shared Components) is needed to extract these definitions during deployment. The version of shared components must be one that matches the GP version (reference below).
NOTE: The version of Dynamics GP will dictate which version of the Dexterity Shared Components to use.
- GP2013 – Dexterity Shared Components 12.0
- GP2015 – Dexterity Shared Components 14.0
- GP2016 – Dexterity Shared Components 16.0
After installation, you must exit Dynamics GP and then come back into the window then press Deploy Reports.
Hope you found this useful!
